Karatsu Farm & Food offers training and consultation on using AI and data, and support for inquiry-based learning and ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) in schools, for businesses, schools and companies in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, Japan. This work falls under the "DX promotion" activity in our articles of incorporation.
What we teach is what we do in our own daily work: collect public documents from the national government, the prefecture and the city, check the figures against the originals, and put them together on a single page anyone can read. We pass on that method to businesses through training and consultation, and to schools through support for inquiry-based learning.
Training and support are given in Japanese, mainly in and around Karatsu City. You are welcome to contact us in English.

For businesses: training and consultation on using AI and data
Through the Karatsu Data Bank, we make and update data pages on the sea, nature, population, tourism and more in Karatsu and Saga. The steps from finding public documents, to checking figures against the originals, to publishing them with sources are described in the section "this data bank and AI" on the hub page.

For schools: support for inquiry-based learning and ESD
We have worked on ESD with the Nijinomatsubara Project Team of Saga Prefectural Karatsu Minami High School, on the themes of food, agriculture, the environment and circulation. With schools on Karatsu City's remote islands, we continue "Island ESD": one island a year, the children collect and study litter on the beach and make works from plastic bottle caps. On 23 October 2026, all 14 pupils of Takashima Elementary School took part in making coasters.
In inquiry-based learning, students set their own questions, gather materials, check them and present. We support teachers by showing how to find and check local public documents, how to research in the field on beaches and in satoyama, and how to put a presentation together. On 25 October 2026, a team from the Food Distribution Course of Karatsu Minami High School won the "Growing Dialect AI Contest" (育てる!!方言AIコンテスト) at the National High School DI Championship (ESD page).

For companies: training and CSR and CSV programmes
For people in charge of human resources, training or CSR, we offer staff training, employee volunteering, and workshops in hotels and tourism. Each of our projects is run as a separate activity.

Yes. Training starts with how to find public documents and how to check figures. Rather than learning the names or operation of AI tools, we focus on the steps for checking the answers you get against the original sources.
Q2. Can a school ask for just part of a course?
Yes. We also take requests for just one inquiry-based learning class, field research, or a review of materials before a presentation.
Q3. Is there a fee?
It depends on the content, the number of people and the number of sessions, so we give a quote after talking with you.
