Sourced data on the sea and nature of Karatsu, Saga and Kyushu

Karatsu Data Bank is the gateway to the data pages compiled by Karatsu Farm & Food, a nonprofit in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, Japan. It brings together public statistics, international assessment reports and our own field records on the sea, nature and resource circulation of Karatsu, Saga and Kyushu, each with its source.

Every figure can be traced to its source in the ledger on each page. Tables are published as text, not images, so search engines and AI can read the numbers. Every month we check whether the sources have published new figures.

Data pages

How we write these pages

We record only what public documents, academic sources and our own records state, and add no evaluation of our own. Figures we cannot confirm in primary sources are left out. When governments or institutions publish new figures or classifications, we update the page and its last-updated date.

We plan to add pages on plastics statistics, progress toward CBD COP17 and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, tourism and nature credits (as of October 2026).
